Do Picard and Crusher ever find happiness together? If you’re like me, you’ve been asking this question for decades. Fret no longer, shipper! There are books that develop the romance between them! We’ll explore them all in this new Anomaly series all about the Picard/Crusher relationship. I kick off the series with a review of the Star Trek The Next Generation novel: Death In Winter by Michael Jan Friedman.

Find a link to the novel, the Tumblr blog, The Star Wars Stacks, and the Sub Rosa review, mentioned by Jen, in the show notes for this episode (listed below).

Anomaly sometimes records what we call a "mini-skirt" 'cast. This is a podcast we publish outside of our regular schedule and is usually a little shorter than a full show. And you can expect several in the next few weeks discussing Start Trek Discovery!

We need to talk about the obvious. One of the hardest things about Star Trek Discovery as a devoted fan of Star Trek is balancing your desire for some new stories from your favorite world and the fact that SciFi as a genre has come a long way in 50 years so of course, they have to change it up. I guess it comes down to - What do you enjoy about Star Trek or any SciFi, and is Discovery presenting a good story?

**Please visit the show notes for links mentioned and related episodes and blog posts.**  "Remember Me" is one of the greatest Star Trek episodes all time, and Doctor Beverly Crusher is one of Trek's most significant role models—Bev definitely deserved more stories like this. Best selling author and fellow Trekkie, Gail Carriger, joins Jen and Angela to discuss why they love "Remember Me" and admire Beverly as much as they do. The three also chat about other TNG episodes, Gail's books and funny fan girl moments. Get the Show Notes Here! Angela lost her voice, so I'm flying solo this week. This episode of Anomaly features eight of my favorite Rick Moyer Star Trek parodies. I play them as an opener to a Classic Anomaly episode: Worst of Trek: Sub Rosa. Our Sub Rosa review was recorded and released in 2010 and archived on our site when we had to switch podcast feeds. If you don't remember Sub Rosa, it's the one where Beverley becomes weirdly infatuated with her recently deceased Nana's lover. Eww. Gross. Now the series is complete…sort of. We plan on continuing the Worst of Trek, but we need some Trek episode suggestions from you. They have to be funny and Spock's Brain is an easy target. :) Our next episode (on January 10) is a mail bag episode.

Anomaly | Best of Trek: Lower Decks

The ladies of Anomaly AND Anomaly Supplemental join together to cover one of Sue's favorite episodes of TNG from the 7th season. The unconventional look at the Lower Decks. We explore this episode that shoes the Enterprise from the junior officer's perspective.

SPOILERS!! WATCH THE EPISODE FIRST! There is a major plot point that will affect your enjoyment of the episode if you listen first.

If you detect a disturbance in the force, Angela edited this episode so she could enjoy her birthday weekend, and we recorded a four-way Skype. Please forgive any hiccups in sound quality and editing, Angela hasn't edited in 7 years!

Also the very end of the episode is an outtake which features 1 colorful word. Listener descretion is advised.

Thank you for listening! If you like our show, please rate us in iTunes and Stitcher and share with your friends.

In this preveiously archived Anomaly Classic episode, from 2009 or 2010 (there's some discrepancy), Jen and Angela kick off their popular "Worst of Trek" series. Riker and the crew are addicted to a game that involves mentally directing a disk into a funnel. When this is achived, the player is "rewarded" by receiving pleasure signals from the device. Kinky. The woman who introduced it to Riker says that the game can go as far as the player will take it, and Riker decides to continue playing. WELL DUH. He's Riker! The man is all about pleasure.  "The Game" is the 106th episode of the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation. The sixth episode of the fifth season.

In this edition of Anomaly, Jen and Angela discuss "Rascals" from Star Trek: The NExt Generation's sixth season. It's an episode that features a preteen Picard, Guinan, Keiko and Ro; it's not the "best of Trek", but it is certainly one of the more entertaining of this particular series. Angela and Jen also announce their plans for a live anniversary show--Anomaly is now seven years old and to celebrate they are hosting a live broadcast on Mixlr on March 1st at 2pm CST. There will be a chat room on Mixlr, where you will be able to interact with the hosts as well as other listeners. This episode features a debate on how Star Trek: Into Darkness treats its female characters. Angela and Jen purposefully took extreme stances in order to make the debate more entertaining. The goal was to represent both sides of this discussion while offering the contrasting views of the listeners. The hosts did their best to make this a balanced and respectful discussion. They hope you find it interesting, even if you find their arguements flawed in some way. See the show notes for links at AnomalyPodcast.com. Thank you for listening! Anomaly TNG's 25th a Review of Ship in a Bottle

In this episode of Anomaly, Jen and Angela celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Star Trek: The Next Generation. It is a day late getting to the feed, the actual anniversary of the first TNG episode is Sept 28. In this edition of Anomaly the hosts welcome new listeners, give a very brief history of the two Anomaly shows, then talk about how TNG shaped their lives and how they believe it's changed the way audiences view television. The episode review at the end of the show, was originally released in August of 2008 and shared with Rico from Treks In Sci-Fi...Jen and Angela stood in for Rico as hosts on his show.  Jen produced the episode and included the vocal talents of Rick Moyer, Simon Meddings and a few other guests.
