Do you have what it takes to graduate from these highly competitive sci fi fantasy schools? Would you survive the rigorous training and dangerous tests? Talk about a serious education! In this installment of Anomaly, Jen and Angela list eleven academies that teach powerful magic, superior science, sneaky spying, and super soldiering. It’s a fun, light-hearted look at our favorite academies from sci fi fantasy television, movies, and literature. If you enjoyed this episode, share it with a friend. :) Visit the show notes for links, related episodes, and in-depth information. Did we miss any? The ultimate woe, the epitome of nerd rage, the most taboo of all topics is the very one that Angela and Jen set forth to conquer in this episode: Star Wars or Star Trek. Join us as we bring back this golden oldie from the Anomaly vault all the way back in 2011 where Jen and Angela approached this age-old question, not from a ‘which franchise is better’ standpoint, but instead, they looked within and asked what the preference of one franchise over the other says about a person. So...which do you prefer and why? Here's how to get in touch: 432-363-4742 (Google Voice Mail) Comment below! Email your an audio comment to girlygeekz@gmail.com

In this episode, Jen and Angela return with a tribute to Carrie Fisher—a woman who was the ultimate Anomaly and someone they held a ton of respect for. They waited for a month to talk about her passing on Anomaly, because, quite frankly, the two of them couldn't record an episode without getting choked up. After they had time to digest what happened, reflect on why she meant so much to them, and re-watch her films and the Bright Lights documentary, they gave it another try. Please visit the show notes for links to related episodes and more. As always, we welcome your comments! In this final episode of Anomaly Supplemental, KC and Sue give our recommendations, list off some of the topics we never got around to, and discuss the 2008 sensation: Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. As usual, we talk about our favorite parts, dig up some trivia, and go on several tangents. This might be the last Anomaly Supplemental, but don’t worry – we won’t disappear. There is a new project in the works. In the meantime, you can follow KC on Twitter (@ThatKCRyan), follow Sue (@spaltor) on Twitter, and hear Sue on Women at Warp (womenatwarp.com). Special thanks - for this episode and for the show as a whole - go out to Marian Call, Rick Moyer, Simon Meddings, Jen, Angela, Sarah, Anne, and everyone who’s supported us over the last 5 years. www.anomalypodcast.com
